Rodents have been a problem in every household and everyone has been trying to get rid of them. Here are some tips to prevent them,
Secure traps outside and inside the house, especially near holes. Keeping peanut butter, fruits, something sweet as bait will attract them and the trap will do its job. You can later release them. There are snap traps too, that kill these rodents instead of just trapping them.
Putting pepper or spraying pepper near the holes and opening you can find is also a good way to drive them off. But be careful and make sure you don’t miss any holes.
Keep cleaning and check for any food crumbs on the floor or tables. Rodents have a strong sense of smell and are most likely to enter places that aren’t hygienic. Clean cracks and keep everything in containers or closed and stored away.
Get rid of all the places that hold onto moisture as it just attracts rodents, insects and becomes a breeding ground for them.
· Install Rat Blockers
Rat blockers are installed in drains and come in sizes of 6 inch and 4 inch rat blocker. These can fit into pipes and prevent rodents from entering in the first place. The rat flaps come in different sizes too for rodents of all sizes, there are 100mm-150mm and 110mm rat flap respectively. Installing these into the drainage pipes will secure it and then you just have to cover up the chimneys or cat doors.
· Keep Firewood Away
Firewood is a great thing for rats to chew on and keep their teeth in shape. So make sure your firewood is at least 20feet away from your house as rodents love them.
Check and make sure that all the cabinets and tiny places are clean. Also, checking them every day is a good thing because what if there is a family of rats hiding in your basement? Or your old wardrobe?
· Seal Chimneys
Sealing Chimneys with nets can help prevent rodents.
· Use Rat poison
Using rat poison near holes and cracks and places, where you think rats are prone to come.
Combining all this can give great results. Install a 6inch or 4inch rat blocker with 100mm, 150mm, or 110mm rat flap, keep your place clean, cover up the chimney and inspect areas and that should do the job.
